The Quantity Estimator for Modular Furniture is responsible for accurately estimating material quantities, labor requirements, and overall costs associated with manufacturing, supply, and installation of modular furniture (kitchen units, wardrobes, workstations, etc.). The role ensures competitive and profitable pricing while maintaining quality and compliance with project specifications.
Study architectural drawings, layouts, and design details to extract furniture quantities and specifications.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for materials such as panels, hardware, finishes, edge banding, and accessories.
Estimate labor hours required for production and installation.
2. Costing & Pricing
Prepare cost estimates covering raw materials, hardware, fittings, labor, logistics, and overheads.
Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors for specialized items.
Develop detailed cost sheets and pricing proposals for client approval.
Assist in preparing BOQs (Bills of Quantities) and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
3. Technical Coordination
Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to validate material choices and design feasibility.
Review design changes and assess their cost implications.
Support the sales team in responding to tenders, RFQs, and client pricing queries.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of all estimation data, cost analyses, and project budgets.
Prepare comparative cost analyses for different material or design options.
Ensure timely submission of estimates and participate in project handover meetings.
5. Continuous Improvement
Analyze post-project costing to identify variances and improve future estimation accuracy.
Stay updated with market rates of materials, new product technologies, and fabrication methods.
Qualifications & Experience:
