Quality Control Engineer - Rubber & Rubber-to-Metal Components

Position Title: Manager Quality Assurance/ Control Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reporting To: Plant Head

Location: Factory (Shopfloor + Lab)

Role Objective

To ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of molded rubber and rubber-to-metal bonded products by executing inspection, testing, documentation, and process control activities aligned with

ISO 9001:2015

,

IATF 16949:2016

, and

ESG

standards.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Factory Processes and Systems including:

1. Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection

Perform dimensional, visual, hardness, tensile, adhesion, and functional tests. Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, control plans, and customer requirements. Record inspection results with complete traceability. Identify non-conforming parts and initiate NCR reports.

2. Testing & Metrology

Operate and maintain: Vernier, micrometer, profile projector Hardness tester (Shore A/D) Tensile testing machine Ageing oven, ozone chamber, salt spray chamber Adhesion/bond testers Ensure all measuring instruments are calibrated as per schedule.

3. Quality System Compliance (ISO + IATF)

Implement and follow work instructions, SOPs, control plans, and inspection standards. Participate in internal audits and close audit findings. Support PPAP submission -- Dimensional reports, MSA, SPC, and test reports. Maintain proper documentation for traceability and change management.

4. Problem Solving & Corrective Actions

Assist in root-cause analysis using: 5 Why Ishikawa 8D Pareto Drive corrective & preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

5. ESG & Safety Compliance

Ensure safe handling of chemicals, rubber compounds, and testing equipment. Follow waste segregation, energy conservation, and safety protocols. Uphold ethical reporting and transparency.

6. Continuous Improvement

Monitor process trends for SPC & capability improvement. Suggest Kaizens, poka-yokes, and 5S improvements. Share feedback with production for defect prevention.

Qualifications

B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Polymer / Industrial engineering. Preferred: Certification in

Internal Auditor (ISO 9001/IATF 16949)

. Exposure to automotive rubber/rubber-to-metal parts is advantageous.
