The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality control activities on the production floor, ensuring products meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role supervises quality inspectors, drives corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control & Assurance
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of quality inspectors and technicians
Ensure incoming, in-process, and final inspections are performed according to procedures
Verify products comply with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
Monitor production processes to identify quality issues and non-conformances
Approve or reject raw materials, components, and finished products
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, or Pareto
Initiate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve quality issues
Support containment actions for internal and customer quality problems
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports
Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and external standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP)
Audits & Compliance
Support internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, certification bodies)
Ensure corrective actions from audits are implemented and verified
Enforce adherence to quality systems, procedures, and work instructions
Training & Supervision
Train production and quality staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and procedures
Coach employees on quality awareness and defect prevention
Evaluate performance of quality inspectors and provide feedback
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Analyze quality data and KPIs (scrap, rework, defects, customer complaints)
Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency

Typical Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc)
0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role
Experience with quality management systems (ISO, IATF, GMP, etc.)
Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement equipment
