The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and control activities across the entire OE (Open-End) Spinning process -- from raw material to finished yarn. The role ensures that production meets the required customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Assurance:
Establish and implement quality systems and SOPs for all production stages (blow room, carding, draw frame, OE machine, winding).
Monitor yarn quality parameters such as CSP, U%, IPI, count CV%, and contamination levels.
Conduct regular quality audits on raw materials (cotton, polyester, viscose), in-process materials, and final yarn.
Testing & Analysis:
Supervise lab testing (HVI, AFIS, Uster, Classimat, Tenso strength, etc.).
Analyze test reports and identify process variations or deviations.
Ensure calibration of testing equipment and maintain records.
Process Improvement:
Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to identify root causes of quality issues.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce wastage, contamination, and customer complaints.
Drive continuous improvement through SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Lean quality initiatives.
Customer & Compliance:
Manage customer complaint analysis and provide timely solutions.
Maintain records of customer quality approvals, lab dips, and testing reports.
Ensure compliance with buyer and ISO/ OEKO-TEX quality standards.
Team Management:
Lead and train the quality team, including lab technicians and quality inspectors.
Conduct regular training on quality awareness and process standards.
Monitor and evaluate team performance.
Reporting:
Prepare daily and monthly quality performance reports.
Present quality metrics and improvement plans to management.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
B.Tech / Diploma in Textile Technology.
Experience:
Minimum 8-15 years in quality control of OE Spinning Mills.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of yarn quality parameters, fiber testing, and OE machinery.
Familiarity with Uster standards, yarn classification, and contamination control systems.
Soft Skills:
Leadership, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Yarn quality consistency (CSP, CV%, IPI).
Customer complaint reduction.
Process wastage and rejection rate.
Timely calibration and testing accuracy.
Implementation of corrective actions and audit compliance.
