Key responsibilities

Develop and implement quality systems:

Create and establish the hospital's quality procedures, standards, and specifications, often in alignment with national and international standards like the NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers).

Ensure regulatory compliance:

Oversee adherence to all relevant regulatory and legal requirements, such as licenses and safety protocols.

Conduct data analysis and reporting:

Collect, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), patient outcomes, and other quality metrics. Use statistical tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Perform audits and assessments:

Conduct internal and external audits, including patient record audits, mock accreditation audits, and pre-assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Drive continuous improvement:

Monitor existing processes, identify areas of weakness, and implement strategies for reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and improving patient care.

Manage patient experience:

Carry out patient satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback to ensure patient requirements are met.

Collaborate across departments:

Work with clinical and administrative staff to define quality procedures, implement changes, and foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.

Manage quality documentation:

Establish and maintain control and documentation procedures.

Oversee training:

Coordinate and support training programs for staff on quality standards and procedures.
Required skills and qualifications

Education:

A degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a relevant field is common, with an MBA being advantageous.

Experience:

Several years of experience in quality management within a healthcare or hospital setting is typically required.

Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of healthcare quality accreditation standards (like NABH) is essential.

Skills:

Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills are crucial for the role.

Technical abilities:

Proficiency with data analysis and statistical tools is necessary.
