The Senior Manager - Quality & Innovation is responsible for developing and executing quality assurance strategies for construction projects, ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety. The role focuses on planning, inspections, material testing, team training, documentation, and ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent adherence to quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Planning & Strategy
Formulate the overall QA strategy for construction projects, aligned with company policies and client requirements.
Develop QA procedures, standards, and guidelines in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory norms.
Collaborate with project teams to set measurable quality objectives and monitor their achievement.
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure construction processes and activities meet defined quality standards and project specifications.
Oversee implementation of quality control measures across materials, workmanship, and site activities.
Conduct site quality audits to verify compliance and recommend improvements.
Review construction documentation for accuracy and adherence to quality parameters.
Material and Product Testing
Coordinate material testing activities to ensure conformance with project and regulatory standards (e.g., concrete, steel, tiles, etc.).
Supervise testing of raw materials and finished work to validate performance and durability.
Maintain testing documentation and ensure all relevant certificates are obtained and recorded.
Site Inspections & Monitoring
Perform regular site inspections to assess quality and implementation of QA protocols.
Identify quality deviations and initiate corrective/preventive actions in coordination with project stakeholders.
Ensure safety compliance while enforcing quality practices at site.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead and mentor the QA team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Organize training sessions for internal teams and external stakeholders on quality standards and procedures.
Evaluate performance of team members and support their development through structured feedback.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed QA documentation including inspection reports, test results, and NCRs.
Prepare and submit regular quality performance reports to senior management.
Ensure proper tracking of quality issues, resolutions, and lessons learned.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
Identify, document, and address non-conformances through structured corrective and preventive action plans.
Track NCRs, ensure timely closure, and apply learning to future projects.
Analize team performance based on quality KPIs and maintain NCR records accordingly.
Vendor and Subcontractor Management
Evaluate and audit vendors/subcontractors to ensure alignment with project quality requirements.
Monitor and validate workmanship and material quality during execution.
Collaborate with procurement and execution teams to maintain consistency in quality standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards
Ensure compliance with local construction regulations, codes, and standards (IS Codes, ISO 9001, etc.).
Keep abreast of emerging QA trends and technologies to enhance construction quality.
Integrate environmental and sustainability standards into QA processes in alignment with corporate goals.
Customer Satisfaction
Ensure that project quality standards align with client expectations and contractual obligations.
Address client concerns regarding quality in a prompt and professional manner.
Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and enhance project value delivery.
