Job Description

A hospital quality manager oversees and implements systems and policies to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety, adhering to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards like NABH. Their role involves developing and monitoring quality improvement programs, conducting audits and patient surveys, training staff, and analyzing data to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Policy Development and Implementation:

Creates, updates, and implements hospital-wide quality policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation guidelines.

Quality Assurance and Monitoring:

Oversees quality assurance activities, including monitoring patient care, auditing documentation, and gathering data on patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and adverse events.

Process Improvement:

Develops and implements quality improvement programs, using data to identify areas for improvement and to make suggestions for changes to policies and procedures.

Staff Training and Development:

Conducts training programs for hospital staff to raise awareness about quality standards, safety protocols, and to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Reporting and Analysis:

Gathers and analyzes relevant data, producing statistical reports on hospital performance, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics for various reports.

Risk Management:

Works with clinical teams to assess and mitigate risks, ensuring health and safety standards are met throughout the hospital.

Liaison and Collaboration:

Collaborates with various departments, including clinical, administrative, and finance, to ensure quality goals are integrated across the organization.

Compliance with Standards:

Stays informed about and ensures the hospital's adherence to external standards and regulations, such as those set by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH).
