Job Summary

We are looking for a results-driven

Quality Head

to lead the quality assurance and control department at our knitted garment manufacturing facility in Tirupur. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire production lifecycle--from fabric sourcing to final shipment--ensuring every garment meets international export standards and buyer specifications.

As the Quality Head, you will lead and mentor a team of

3 QC Inspectors

, driving a "Right First Time" culture and maintaining a zero-defect mindset across the floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

Lead, train, and manage a team of 3 QC inspectors. Assign daily inspection tasks across knitting, dyeing, sewing, and finishing departments. Conduct weekly performance reviews and technical training sessions for the QC team.

2. Process Quality Control

Establish and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production stages.

Fabric Quality:

Overlook 4-point system inspections for greige and dyed knitted fabrics (GSM, shrinkage, spirality, and colourfastness).

In-Line Inspection:

Implement traffic light systems in the sewing lines to identify and rectify defects early.

Final Audit:

Conduct final random inspections (FRI) based on AQL 1.5/2.5 or as per specific buyer manuals.

3. Compliance & Buyer Interaction

Review Tech Packs and approved samples to ensure production alignment. Coordinate with buyer QA representatives and third-party agencies (SGS, Intertek, etc.) for final inspections. Lead Pre-Production (PP) meetings to highlight potential quality risks to the production team.

4. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as

DHU (Defects per Hundred Units)

and

Rejection Rates

. Conduct root cause analysis (CAPA) for any repeated quality failures or buyer claims.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

8-12 years in Garment Quality Control, with at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role within a

knitted garment

setup.

Technical Expertise:

Deep knowledge of knitted fabric types (Single Jersey, Interlock, Rib, Fleece).
Mastery of

AQL (Accepted Quality Level)

standards. Hands-on experience with garment measurements and construction defects.

Language:

Fluency in

Tamil

(to manage the floor) and professional proficiency in

English

(for buyer communication/reporting).

Tools:

Proficiency in MS Excel for quality reporting.

- Monday to Saturday
