Role Overview

The Quality Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance and quality control functions in sheet metal and engine valve manufacturing. The role ensures compliance with automotive standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001), customer-specific requirements, and regulatory guidelines, while driving continuous improvement in product and process quality.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS):

Establish, implement, and maintain QMS in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. Coordinate audits (internal, customer, and third-party) and ensure timely closure of NCs.

Incoming, In-Process & Final Quality:

Develop and monitor inspection standards for raw materials, sheet metal components, engine valves, and assemblies. Ensure defect-free supplies to OEMs, Tier-1, and domestic customers. Oversee inspection processes and SPC, MSA, and calibration of measuring equipment.

Supplier Quality:

Conduct supplier audits and ensure incoming material quality. Develop and improve supplier performance through corrective actions and quality improvement programs.

Customer Quality:

Handle customer complaints, warranty analysis, and ensure prompt corrective & preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain strong communication with OEMs/Tier 1 customers regarding quality performance.

Team Management:

Lead, train, and mentor the quality team (engineers, inspectors, supervisors). Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Problem Solving & Improvement:

Use quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and PDCA. Drive zero-defect initiatives and reduce internal/external rejections.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

automotive quality standards

(IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Expertise in

APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans

. Hands-on experience in

sheet metal forming, machining, and engine valve processes

. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer handling abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering.

Experience:

15-120 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the

automotive sheet metal & engine valve industry

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
