The Quality Manager oversees the hospital's quality management systems to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. This role leads quality improvement initiatives, manages accreditation processes, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management & Improvement
Develop, implement, and monitor the hospital's Quality Management System (QMS).
Lead quality improvement (QI) and patient safety projects using methodologies such as PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma, and RCA.
Conduct clinical audits, quality indicators monitoring, and performance reviews.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance
Manage hospital accreditation programs (e.g., JCI, NABH, ISO, QCI).
Ensure compliance with national healthcare regulations and standards.
Maintain documentation required for audits and inspections.
Coordinate internal and external assessments.
3. Patient Safety & Risk Management
Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
Implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPAs).
Track patient safety indicators and recommend risk-reduction strategies.
Promote a Just Culture environment and safety awareness among staff.
4. Policy & Procedure Management
Develop, review, and update hospital policies, SOPs, and clinical guidelines.
Ensure staff awareness and adherence to established protocols.
Support change management when new processes or technologies are introduced.
5. Training & Staff Development
Conduct training on quality standards, patient safety, and process improvement.
Guide departments in setting KPIs and monitoring performance metrics.
Build capacity for quality improvement across multidisciplinary teams.
6. Data Management & Reporting
Collect, analyze, and present quality and safety data to leadership.
Prepare monthly/quarterly quality dashboards and reports.
Use statistical tools to support evidence-based decision making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in healthcare quality management with demonstrated leadership skills
Professional certification in quality/accreditation (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma, ISO Lead Auditor) is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of hospital operations, clinical processes and service protocols.
- Knowledge of national and international quality standards (NABH/JCI) and hospital compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, dashboards, and reporting tools.
