In the ceramic tiles industry, a Quality Management profile focuses on ensuring products meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory standards.

In the ceramic tile industry, an SAP Quality Management (QM) professional ensures that rigorous aesthetic and technical standards--such as color shade (tonality), caliber (sizing), and mechanical strength--are systematically maintained across the production lifecycle.

Job Summary



The SAP QM Specialist for Ceramic Industries is responsible for the end-to-end configuration and support of quality processes, from raw material procurement (clays, glazes) to finished goods dispatch. This role bridges the gap between lab-floor technical requirements and SAP S/4HANA business processes to minimize scrap and ensure batch consistency.

Key Responsibilities



Quality Planning for Ceramics:

Set up

Master Inspection Characteristics (MICs)

specific to tiles, including water absorption, breaking strength, chemical resistance, and surface flatness.

In-Process Inspection (03):

Configure automated inspection lots during the firing and glazing stages to monitor kiln temperature impacts on tile quality.

Shade & Caliber Management:

Utilize

Batch Management

integration to record and track "shading" (tonal variations) and "caliber" (size deviations), ensuring customers receive uniform batches.

Non-Conformance Management:

Establish

Quality Notifications

to track defects like cracks, pinholes, or edge chips, initiating root-cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA).

Vendor Quality Control:

Manage inspections for incoming raw materials (oxides, frits) using

Quality Info Records

and blocking logic for non-compliant suppliers.

Certification & Compliance:

Generate

Certificates of Analysis (COA)

that meet international standards (ISO/EN) for construction materials prior to shipping.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Technical Expertise:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in

SAP QM configuration

(S/4HANA preferred).

Integration Knowledge:

Deep understanding of integration with

PP

(Production Planning),

MM

(Materials Management), and

SD

(Sales & Distribution).

Ceramics Industry Flow:

Familiarity with process manufacturing, specifically the spray-drying, pressing, glazing, and firing stages.

Tools:

Proficiency in data migration tools like

LSMW

or LTMC, and experience with

SAP Fiori

for mobile-based floor inspections.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Ceramics Technology,B.SC,B.COM WITH Computer Knowledge

Connecting SAP QM with automated tile sorting machines and lab equipment via APIs or MES for real-time defect recording.

Sustainability Tracking:

Configuring the system to track and report on recycled content in tile bodies as part of green manufacturing initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
