To ensure parts meet strict quality/safety standards by using precision tools (callipers, micrometres) to measure against blueprints, visually checking for defects, documenting findings, and collaborating with production to fix issues, ensuring ISO/AS9100 compliance and traceability for every component from raw material to finished product. This role is critical to maintaining zero-defect standards required for airworthiness.
Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections using calibrated tools, checking dimensions, torque, seals, and overall workmanship
Monitor production lines and conduct first-off/last-off, patrol, and visual inspections to catch defects early.
Use precision instruments such as micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify dimensional tolerances.
Ensure all processes adhere to AS9100D, ISO 9001, and other regulatory standards.
Identify and document deviations, initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Maintain detailed inspection reports, test records, and material traceability to ensure accountability throughout the component's lifecycle.
Ensure all gauges and measuring tools are calibrated and serviceable before use.
Perform and record FAIs in accordance with
AS9100
standards.
