The Quality Inspector ensures that all incoming, in-process, and finished components meet specified quality standards. The role supports QA and Production teams in maintaining product conformity, identifying defects, and documenting inspection results in compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001, and internal procedures. The position is critical for sustaining KTD's reputation for precision and reliability across aerospace, oil & gas, energy, medical devices, and heavy engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Incoming & In-Process Inspection:
Check raw materials, purchased parts, and in-process components against specifications; identify non-conforming items and report to QA.
Final Inspection:
Verify finished parts using measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier, height gauge, gauges); ensure dimensional, visual, and functional compliance.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain QC forms, inspection logs, and NCRs; assist in preparing reports for audits and corrective actions.
Collaboration:
Work with Production and QA teams to clarify tolerances, support process improvements, and assist in implementing CAPA.
Compliance & Safety:
Follow AS9100D / ISO 9001 standards, internal procedures, and safe handling practices; ensure proper calibration and use of inspection tools.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or related technical field.
Experience:
1-5 years in quality inspection in manufacturing, aerospace, oil & gas, or precision machining.
Skills:
Knowledge of inspection tools and measuring instruments
Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
Basic documentation and computer skills
