Responsibilities and duties

Inspect products and materials:

Conduct tests, measure products using tools like calipers and gauges, and visually examine items to check for defects or deviations from specifications.

Monitor production:

Oversee and monitor all stages of the production process to ensure it adheres to company standards and procedures.

Read and interpret documents:

Use blueprints, specifications, and other documents to verify that products are being made correctly.

Document and report:

Record inspection results, summarize data on re-work and waste, and create reports for supervisors.

Recommend improvements:

Suggest adjustments to the production process to improve product quality and efficiency.

Train and educate:

Educate the production team on quality control measures and best practices.

Manage equipment:

Ensure all measuring and inspection equipment is calibrated and in proper working condition.

Accept or reject:

Accept or reject finished products based on quality checks and remove defective items.
