Full-Time, On-site

Working Hours - 9:00AM TO 6:00PM

Day Shift (possibly Rotational, depending on production schedule)

Qualifications & Education

Diploma in Chemical Engineering or related field (Paint Technology / Polymer / Coatings beneficial) Freshers can apply; any prior internship/industrial training experience is a plus Basic understanding of chemistry & paint/coating processes
Key Responsibilities

Incoming Material Inspection

Check quality of raw materials (pigments, binders, solvents, additives) delivered to the plant. Ensure material identity, appearance, and basic chemical parameters (e.g. pH, viscosity) match specifications.

In-Process Inspection

Monitor paint preparation / mixing stage for consistency (color, viscosity, time). Inspect surface preparation before painting (cleaning, degreasing, rust removal). Observe coating application (spraying / brushing etc.), check for defects like sagging, runs, bubbles.

Finished Paint Inspection

Assess final painted surfaces for defects: uneven coverage, blotches, gloss/matte consistency, color match, adhesion issues. Measure paint thickness using simple gauges. Perform visual inspection under standard lighting.

Basic Testing & Measurements

Use tools such as micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges. Basic chemical / physical tests: perhaps viscosity, drying time, hardness. Maintain / calibrate measuring instruments.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain inspection reports: checklist forms, defect reports. Record non-conformities and communicate them to production / QC senior. Help in tracking corrective actions and re-inspections.

Support & Compliance

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, cleanliness standards. Assist senior inspectors during audits or quality improvement activities. Maintain housekeeping of inspection area; ensure tools are clean, calibrated.

Continuous Learning

Learn about paint / coating technology, common defects and their causes. Improve skills in color matching, gloss measurement etc. Accept feedback and aim for fewer defects / better inspection accuracy.
Skills & Attributes

Good attention to detail and observation skills Basic knowledge of paint/coating terminology & chemistry Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions Good communication skills (to report issues clearly) Willingness to work in production / manufacturing environment Basic numerical ability (for measurements, reading test data) Preferably some familiarity with tools like calipers, thickness gauges, viscosity cups, etc.
Performance Metrics

Number of defects caught per batch / per week % of rejected parts / surfaces before shipment Adherence to inspection schedule Accuracy in measurement & reporting Compliance with safety & SOPs
