Conduct in-process and final inspections of steel products (billets, coils, bars, sheets, etc.) as per specifications.
Verify dimensions, surface finish, hardness, and mechanical/chemical properties.
Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as UT, RT, MPI, DPI, etc.
Ensure incoming raw materials (scrap, billets, alloys) meet quality requirements.
Compliance & Standards
Follow and implement ISO, BIS, ASTM, and other relevant quality standards.
Ensure products comply with customer-specific requirements and industry norms.
Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare inspection reports, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), and maintain quality records.
Update quality logs and share daily/weekly inspection reports with management.
Document deviations and corrective actions taken.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and dispatch teams to resolve quality issues.
Provide feedback to production teams to prevent recurrence of defects.
Assist in customer audits and third-party inspections.
Continuous Improvement
Identify areas for quality improvement and recommend corrective actions.
Support implementation of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive action (CAPA) processes.
