To ensure that all products, processes, and systems meet aerospace quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The QA Engineer/Manager will drive compliance with
AS9100
standards, lead audits, manage quality assurance activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
Implement, monitor, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with
AS9100
requirements.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and statutory/regulatory obligations.
Support Management Representative (MR) in maintaining certification audits.
Process & Product Quality Assurance
Develop and implement QA plans, inspection procedures, and quality control methodologies.
Conduct first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to drawings and specifications.
Audit & Documentation
Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and ensure closure of nonconformities.
Maintain quality records, control of documents, and revision management per AS9100.
Prepare reports and dashboards on quality performance metrics.
Customer & Supplier Interaction
Serve as a point of contact for customer quality representatives.
Handle customer complaints, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and root cause analysis.
Audit and qualify suppliers to ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
Drive initiatives for defect reduction, yield improvement, and process optimization.
Apply risk-based thinking in decision-making and quality planning.
Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Industrial Engineering (or related field).
Experience:
3-8 years of QA/QC experience in aerospace/precision manufacturing.
Hands-on experience in
AS9100
quality systems.
Certifications (preferred):
Certified AS9100 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor.
Knowledge of NADCAP, ISO 9001, and special processes (welding, NDT, heat treatment, coatings).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GD&T, measurement techniques, and aerospace manufacturing standards.
Proficiency in quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office / ERP / QMS software.
