Quality Head - Stainless Steel Industry



Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control



Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Head / Managing Director



Job Summary



The Quality Head is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems to ensure stainless steel products meet internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable national and international standards. The role involves leading the quality team, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with ISO and industry-specific standards.

Key Responsibilities



Quality Management

Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.

Ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME, EN, JIS, IS, and customer-specific specifications for stainless steel products.

Define quality policies, objectives, and procedures across manufacturing processes.

Process & Product Quality



Monitor and control quality at all stages: raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final inspection.

Ensure proper testing of stainless steel products (chemical, mechanical, corrosion, dimensional, NDT, etc.).

Approve inspection test plans (ITP), control plans, and quality documentation.

Team Leadership

Lead, train, and mentor the quality assurance and quality control team.

Allocate resources effectively to meet production and quality goals.

Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.

Audits & Compliance



Plan and conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external audits (ISO, customer, third-party).

Ensure timely closure of audit non-conformities and corrective actions.

Maintain all quality-related records and certifications.

Customer & Supplier Quality

Handle customer quality complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Coordinate with customers on quality requirements, inspections, and approvals.

Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance and approve vendors.

Continuous Improvement

Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejections, rework, and customer complaints.

Use quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, and root cause analysis.

Support cost reduction and process optimization initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

8-10 years of experience

in quality management within the stainless steel or metal manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of stainless steel grades, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.

Experience with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
