About the Role

We are looking for a young, dynamic, and result-oriented

Quality Head

to lead and strengthen the quality function at our Sheet Metal and Welding Assembly manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The role demands strong hands-on experience, deep shopfloor involvement, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, systems, and people.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the complete Quality function for sheet metal fabrication and welding assemblies Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements, drawings, specifications, and applicable standards Establish, implement, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems Drive shopfloor-level quality improvements through root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions Lead internal and external audits, customer audits, and certification audits Monitor and control welding quality, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and assembly fitment Handle customer complaints, quality issues, and rejection analysis with effective closure Implement quality tools such as 7 QC tools, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchase, and Supplier Quality teams Develop, train, and mentor the quality team to achieve operational excellence Reduce rejection, rework, and scrap through systematic quality improvement initiatives

Desired Candidate Profile

BE / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering (Quality certifications preferred) Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding assemblies Strong exposure to MIG, TIG, spot welding, fixtures, gauges, and inspection techniques Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality standards Proven ability to drive continuous improvement directly on the shopfloor Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience working in automotive or engineering manufacturing environment preferred
