To lead the organization's overall Quality function, ensuring that supplier quality, in-process quality, final product quality, and customer quality requirements are consistently met. The role is responsible for defining and executing quality strategy, strengthening Quality Management Systems (QMS), driving continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory and customer compliance, safeguarding product safety, and building a strong culture of quality excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
Develop, implement, and sustain the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 / IATF / IMS and regulatory requirements.
Establish, deploy, and govern quality policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with customer specifications.
Ensure effective implementation of internal audits, management review meetings (MRM), document control, and corrective action systems.
Drive Digital QMS implementation, analytics-based dashboards, and data transparency for real-time quality decision-making.
2. Quality Assurance
Define and approve quality standards, inspection criteria, and testing protocols for incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and finished products.
Conduct regular system, process, and product audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure product safety, risk management, and compliance are embedded into design and manufacturing processes.
3. Quality Control
Implement and govern robust quality control tools and methodologies including SPC, FMEA, MSA, RCA, 8D, CAPA, and Control Plans.
Monitor in-house rejections, rework, and repetitive issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Exercise authority to stop production and/or dispatch in case of any quality, compliance, or product safety risk.
4. Supplier Quality Management
Define supplier quality standards and evaluate supplier performance through audits, scorecards, and PPM tracking.
Lead supplier audits, PPAP approvals, and supplier development initiatives.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to resolve supplier quality issues and strengthen end-to-end supply chain quality performance.
5. Customer Satisfaction & Warranty Management
Own customer quality performance including complaints, PPM trends, returns, warranty claims, and customer scorecards.
Lead customer claim and warranty management, ensuring root cause identification and effective closure through 8D methodology.
Act as the primary interface for customers on quality matters, customer audits, and non-conformance closure.
6. New Product Development (NPD) & Change Management
Ensure quality ownership in NPD, APQP, and ECN (Engineering Change Notices).
Drive APQP, PPAP, and process capability validation before SOP, ensuring readiness and risk mitigation.
Ensure quality risk assessment and validation are completed prior to new product or process release.
