- Quality Head (Sheet Metal - Automobile Parts Manufacturing)

Role Summary

The Quality Head will lead the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for a sheet metal automobile parts manufacturing plant. The role ensures adherence to OEM standards, drives zero-defect culture, and leads continuous improvement across all quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead customer quality management for OEMs including audits, PPAP, APQP, and issue resolution.

Establish and monitor quality control plans for stamping, welding, fabrication, and assembly.

Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective & preventive actions (8D, Why-Why, etc.).

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 standards, and maintain all quality documentation.

Monitor in-process quality, final inspection, rejection analysis, and scrap reduction.

Handle supplier quality, incoming inspection, supplier audits, and material certification.

Lead and develop a team of quality engineers, supervisors, and inspectors.

Implement quality improvement initiatives, kaizens, and process capability enhancement.

Prepare daily/weekly/monthly quality MIS and present performance to management.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of sheet metal processes: stamping, welding, fabrication, assembly.

Proficient in automotive quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 7QC tools, 8D.

Knowledge of GD&T and measuring instruments.

Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Experience in handling OEM quality requirements.

Qualifications

Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or related field.

10-20 years of experience in sheet metal automotive quality.

Prior experience in a Tier-1 or OEM environment is preferred.

Should have managed customer audits and led a quality team independently.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
