The Quality Head will oversee and elevate the entire Quality Management System (QMS) at
the assembly and fabrication plant. This role ensures compliance with industry standards,
drives continuous improvement, and fosters a culture of quality excellence across
fabrication, welding, assembly, and final inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality System & Compliance
? Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 etc.).
? Plan and coordinate internal, external, and supplier audits; ensure timely closure of
non-conformances.
? Establish standard work procedures, control plans, work instructions, and inspection
protocols for assembly, welding, and fabrication processes.
Quality Assurance & Control
? Lead quality activities across incoming materials, in-process assemblies, welding
shops, and finished products.
? Utilize statistical tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, PFMEA) to monitor and validate process
capabilities.
? Oversee first-article, in-process, and final inspections; ensure calibration and
reliability of measurement devices.
Root-Cause Analysis & CAPA
? Lead investigations on deviations, defects, customer complaints, warranty failures,
and warranty claims. Generate 8D reports, A3 analyses, and corrective action plans.
? Work cross-functionally to implement permanent corrective actions and prevent
recurrence.
? Track quality KPIs (PPM, scrap, first-pass yield, non-quality costs) and drive
performance improvements.
Supplier & Vendor Quality
? Audit suppliers, qualify new vendors, and ensure incoming materials meet
specifications.
? Collaborate with procurement and SCM teams to manage vendor performance and
quality disputes.
Leadership & Training
? Lead and mentor the quality team, including quality engineers, inspectors, and
technicians.
? Provide training on QMS, quality tools (7QC, SPC, FMEA), welding/QC techniques,
and audit practices.
? Promote quality culture and "Quality First" mindset across all plant functions.
Continuous Improvement
? Lead quality improvement projects using Lean, Six?Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
Conduct process optimization and efficiency initiatives.
? Drive cost savings through reduction in waste, rework, and non-conformance.
? Participate in new product introduction (APQP) and DFM reviews, collaborating with
engineering and production.
Qualifications & Skills
Requirement Details:
Education Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing
Engineering or related field
Experience
10-15 years in quality roles within manufacturing--fabrication,
welding, assembly, sheet metal. ? Plant-level and cross-plant exposure
desired
Certifications
( Optional )
ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 auditor, Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, CQE or
equivalent
Technical Skills Strong expertise in welding standards, ASME IX, SPC, MSA, FMEA,
PFMEA, control plans
Quality Tools Advanced use of 8D, A3, CAPA, RCA, 7QC tools
Soft Skills Strong leadership, communication, analytical, project management,
and interpersonal skills
ERP & IT Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office suite
Mobility Willingness to travel as required (for audits, customer visits, supplier
sites)
