To ensure that all furniture products and installations meet the company's quality standards, customer requirements, and industry specifications through systematic inspection, process monitoring, and continuous improvement.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Control - Production (Factory)
Inspect raw materials like plywood, MDF, hardware, laminate, veneer, adhesives, etc.
Conduct in-process inspection for cutting, edge banding, routing, drilling, assembling, sanding, and finishing.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and workmanship according to drawings/BOQs.
Ensure proper finishing quality--sanding smoothness, paint/polish quality, uniformity, colour match.
Perform final QC before packing and dispatch.
B. Site Quality Inspection (If required)
Conduct installation checks for wardrobes, kitchen, counters, furniture, panels, doors, partitions, etc.
Verify alignment, leveling, fittings, joints, and overall finish at site.
Record snag points and follow up with the site / production team for closure.
C. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare quality inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective action plans.
Maintain QC checklists, test records, and material approval documents.
Track daily, weekly, and monthly quality KPIs.
D. Process Improvement
Identify recurring defects and suggest process improvements.
Coordinate with production and design teams to resolve quality issues.
Standardize workmanship procedures, tolerances, and inspection methods.
Support internal audits (ISO, factory compliance, safety).
E. Vendor & Material Quality
Inspect and approve materials supplied by vendors.
Coordinate with suppliers for defective material replacement.
Assist in developing new quality benchmarks for materials.
3. Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes (panel processing, carpentry, finishing, upholstery).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Understanding of materials like plywood, MDF, veneers, laminates, hardware, polish, paints.
Familiarity with measuring tools (vernier caliper, measuring tape, angle checker).
Good documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
Team coordination and problem-solving ability.
Basic understanding of ISO/QA/QC systems.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Wood Technology or related field.
2-6 years of experience in the furniture / wood / interior industry.
Hands-on exposure to factory and site quality inspections.
