Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Inspection & Monitoring

Perform daily incoming inspection of wood materials (timber, planks, plywood, blocks, nails, etc.). Conduct in-process inspections during pallet/skid manufacturing. Carry out final inspection before dispatch to ensure correct dimensions, strength, and finish. Measure moisture content, wood quality, surface finish, and load-bearing parameters.

2. Compliance & Standard Checking

Verify product compliance with customer drawings, QC plans, and standards (ISPM-15, heat treatment, etc.). Check stamping, marking, and labeling requirements on wooden pallets/skids.

3. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain inspection reports, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), daily quality logbooks, checklists, and final QC reports. Record and update moisture readings, rejection data, and inspection results. Assist in maintaining SOPs and Work Instructions for the wooden section.

4. Defect Control & Coordination

Identify defects and communicate immediately to production for correction. Follow up on rework, corrections, and preventive actions. Support root cause analysis for recurring quality issues.

5. Customer Quality Support

Assist in handling customer quality concerns related to wooden items. Prepare material for customer audits/inspections and support quality documentation requests.

6. Safety & Housekeeping

Ensure safe inspection practices on the shopfloor. Maintain clean and organized quality inspection areas.

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

1-4 years of experience in Wooden Packaging / Pallet Manufacturing / Wood Industry (preferred).

Knowledge of wooden packaging standards, wood properties, and basic inspection methods. Ability to use basic measuring tools: measuring tape, moisture meter, vernier caliper, gauges.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Good understanding of wooden product quality parameters. Strong observation and inspection skills. Ability to interpret simple drawings and measurements. Basic knowledge of QC tools and documentation. Problem identification and coordination with production team. Discipline, accuracy, and responsibility in reporting.
