Quality Executive - Steel Industry

Location:

Koshi, Mathura

Job Purpose:

To ensure consistent quality of raw materials, in-process products, and finished steel products by developing and enforcing good quality practices, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and supporting production teams in resolving quality-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and test incoming raw materials (e.g., billets, scrap, ferro alloys) and finished steel products as per applicable industry standards (IS, ASTM, EN, BIS). Monitor in-process quality parameters during rolling, melting, and heat treatment operations. Conduct physical, mechanical, and chemical testing using lab equipment such as spectrometers, UTM, hardness testers, impact testers, etc. Identify and document product non-conformities and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Coordinate with the production, maintenance, and dispatch teams to resolve quality-related issues. Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and participate in audits and documentation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports, test certificates, MTCs, and customer complaint logs. Support root cause analysis (RCA) and failure analysis for internal defects or customer complaints. Assist in training floor personnel on quality awareness and best practices. Ensure calibration and maintenance of quality instruments and laboratory equipment.

Key Requirements:

Diploma or B.Tech / B.E. in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Control/Assurance in the steel industry.
