What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Quality EngineeringConsultantis responsible forleading the testing activities within CIBCsETQuality Engineering team. This role ensures that client needs are met with the highest quality standards by overseeing all aspects of the testing process, including the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts. The incumbent coordinates end-to-end testing, drives continuous improvement, and ensures testing processescomply withorganizational and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with project managers, developers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
Testing Expertise:

• Lead investigation and translation of business and technical requirements into comprehensive test cases.
• Design, manage, and execute end-to-end testing activities for various projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
• Develop andmaintaindetailed test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Develop, execute, andmaintainautomated test cases and test suites using automation tools.
• Track, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Prepare and present regular status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership.
• Ensure all testing activitiescomply withorganizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Automation Expertise:

• Design and implement automation strategies, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Integrate automated testing scripts and strategies with DevOps tools.

Leadership Skills:

• Coach and mentor testing team members in business domain, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.
• Ensure compliance with CIBCs test methodologies and industry best practices.
• Proactivelyidentifypotential issues throughout all test phases and suggest improvements.
• Identifyopportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.

Project Coordination:

• Coordinate internal and external testing teams to ensuretimelycompletion of test phases.
• Identifyand communicate obstacles or risks that mayimpactproject timelines or success.
• Maintain open communication with stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary.
• Ensure test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to project goals and budget.

Experience:5+ years of experience
Who You Are (skills/qualifications):
Must Have Skills:

• Proven 5+ years of experience in Test Coordination and Automation roles, Database testing primarily.
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Defect Management processes for application testing and support.
• Hand-on experience on preparing test plans and test strategies.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g.,Tosca DI,Selenium, Robot Framework,ParaSoftSOAtest, Postman,Rest Assured, Cucumber, Unix).
• Preferred experience with Python, Java, and SQL databases.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA,OpenTextAQM, Confluence).
• Good working knowledge of QE processes and standards.
• Ability to build andmaintainautomated testing scripts and integrate with DevOps tools.
• Working knowledge of cloud/Azure environment (e.g. Databricks).
• Strong working experience on RDBMS (STM, ETL).
• Support multiple projects within cross-functional teams and end to end testing (program projects).
• Strong investigative and analytical skills for solving complex problems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
• Collaborative approach, building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
