About the Role
As a Quality Engineer at Propel, you will contribute to both manual and automated testing to ensure our applications are reliable, stable, and production-ready. You will work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to execute structured testing cycles and gradually build strong automation capabilities.
This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are eager to learn modern testing practices, gain hands-on exposure to automation and CI/CD pipelines, and grow into advanced Quality Engineering roles.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Testing
+
Assist in designing and developing basic automated test scripts for web and API testing using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Locust, Postman, and Python or TypeScript.

Execute automated and manual test cases and analyze test results with clear documentation.
+
Perform API validations for core business workflows.
+
Participate in smoke, sanity, functional, and regression testing across QA, UAT, Staging, and Production environments.
Quality Assurance Process
+
Log defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual results, screenshots, logs, and environment details.
+
Maintain test artifacts including test cases, test data, test plans, and test summary reports.
+
Ensure test evidence is complete, organized, and audit-ready.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+
Work closely with senior QA engineers, developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure complete test coverage.

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
+
Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines under guidance.
+
Gain exposure to Azure DevOps workflows, build pipelines, logs, environments, and basic debugging practices.
Ownership & Delivery Discipline
+
Keep task boards updated with accurate progress, risks, and timelines.
+
Communicate issues early and proactively.
+
Follow testing standards and maintain strong traceability across requirements and test cases.
+
Demonstrate urgency and responsiveness during release cycles.
What We're Looking For
Technical Skills
0 to 2 years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automation).
Basic programming knowledge in TypeScript or JavaScript (academic or internship experience acceptable).
Exposure to automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Locust, and Postman.
Familiarity with web applications, APIs, and basic debugging concepts.
Understanding of testing fundamentals including SDLC, STLC, test case design techniques, and defect lifecycle.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or cloud platforms (Azure preferred) is an added advantage.
