Conduct in-process and final inspections of components as per drawings and specifications.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM, etc.).
Quality System Management:
Maintain quality documentation such as Inspection Reports, PPAP, Control Plans, and Process FMEA.
Support ISO/IATF audits and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
Defect Analysis & Improvement:
Identify root causes for defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Coordinate with Production and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
Supplier & Customer Quality:
Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials and components from suppliers.
Handle customer complaints, prepare 8D reports, and ensure timely closure of NCRs.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives for reducing rejections, rework, and improving process capability (SPC, 5 Why, Kaizen).
Support training for operators and inspectors on quality standards and techniques.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience:
2-5 years in a precision/component manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of engineering drawings & GD&T.
Experience in CMM, Caliper, and other measuring tools.
Familiar with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality systems.
Basic understanding of SPC, MSA, and APQP.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Rejection and rework rate reduction.
Timely closure of customer complaints.
First pass yield improvement.
Supplier quality improvement metrics.
Audit compliance and documentation accuracy.
