The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all power project activities--including renewable and green energy projects such as solar, wind, hybrid, and transmission installations--meet the organization's quality standards, statutory requirements, and client specifications. The role involves implementing QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring project documentation compliance.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Assurance (QA)
Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards.
Review drawings, technical documents, and method statements for quality compliance.
B. Quality Control (QC)
Conduct site inspections for civil, electrical, and mechanical works across power plants and renewable projects.
Monitor quality during installation of solar modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, wind turbine components, etc.
Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet approved specifications.
C. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain quality checklists, NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), CAR (Corrective Action Reports), and inspection records.
Prepare daily/weekly QC reports and submit to Project Manager/Client.
Ensure proper documentation of FAT/SAT, calibration certificates, and vendor quality records.
D. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Inspect vendor-supplied materials and equipment.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors for quality requirements.
Participate in quality audits and follow-up actions.
E. Project Compliance
Ensure project activities comply with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
Support commissioning activities ensuring quality protocols are met.
Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues.
3. Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards related to power generation, renewable energy, and electrical systems.
Familiar with solar PV technology, wind turbine components, power transmission, and substation quality norms.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
4. Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
2-8 years of experience in QA/QC roles in power projects, power distribution, solar/wind energy, EPC, or utility projects.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 preferred.
Certification in QA/QC or NDT (Level-II) is an added advantage.

Zero major NCRs in project execution.
Timely closure of corrective actions.
Quality documentation accuracy.
Compliance with client quality standards.
Zero re-work cases due to quality lapses.
