B. Job Summary:

An NDT Quality Engineer's responsibilities encompass ensuring the integrity and quality of materials and products through non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including developing and implementing NDT procedures, interpreting results, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.

C. Responsibilities

Planning and Implementation:

Develop and implement NDT procedures:

Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Select appropriate NDT methods:

Choosing the most effective techniques for specific materials and applications.

Prepare test plans and procedures:

Creating detailed instructions for NDT activities.

Conduct NDT inspections:

Performing tests on materials, components, and structures.

Interpret NDT results:

Analysing data and identifying potential defects or issues.

Document findings:

Creating detailed reports of inspection results.

Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment:

Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of testing equipment.

Quality Assurance and Improvement:

Identify and address quality issues:

Using NDT to detect and analyze defects or problems.

Provide recommendations for corrective actions:

Working with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes and products.

Contribute to the development of quality standards:

Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations.

Audit NDT processes:

Ensuring compliance with procedures and standards.

Train and mentor NDT technicians:

Sharing knowledge and experience to build a skilled workforce.

D. Preferred Qualification & Experience

To become an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Quality Engineer, you typically need a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience and NDT certifications, such as ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level 2 or Level 3.

Bachelor's Degree:



A bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical) or a related field (physics, metallurgy, etc.) is generally required.

Relevant Experience:



Practical experience in quality control, quality assurance, or NDT methods is highly valued.

NDT Certifications:

ASNT SNT-TC-1A:



The American Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) SNT-TC-1A is a widely recognized standard for NDT personnel certification.

Level 2 or Level 3:
