The Quality Engineer / Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet the company's quality standards and customer requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement to maintain consistent quality in production.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products using measuring instruments and tools.
Ensure that all products meet technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.
Record inspection results and maintain proper documentation for quality audits.
Identify non-conformities and communicate issues to the production or engineering team.
Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Assist in preparing inspection reports, quality checklists, and test plans.
Ensure calibration and proper usage of measuring instruments.
Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
Follow all safety and quality protocols in the workplace.
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering field.
Basic knowledge of quality control processes and inspection techniques.
Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, etc.
Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Strong analytical, observation, and documentation skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) is an added advantage.
