The Quality Engineer (Manufacturing) ensures that all manufactured products meet required quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on process control, defect prevention, supplier quality, and continuous improvement within the production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems in line with ISO 9001 (or other applicable standards).
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and minimize deviations.
Conduct in-process and final product inspections, audits, and testing using appropriate measuring instruments.
Analyze production data (defect rates, rework, scrap) to identify trends and root causes.
Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and ensure closure within timelines.
Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues, conduct supplier audits, and qualify new vendors.
Support New Product Development (NPD) with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and control plans.
Train operators and supervisors on standard quality practices, work instructions, and inspection methods.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives to improve quality and reduce waste.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal procedures.
Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and present findings to management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
2-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.
Experience with ISO 9001, or relevant manufacturing quality standards.
Knowledge of metrology and hands-on experience with measuring equipment (CMM, Vernier, Micrometer, etc.).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Work Environment
Primarily shop-floor and plant-based role, with frequent interaction with production, maintenance
