To ensure that all construction activities are executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, standards, and quality norms of the company, maintaining compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance & Control
Implement and monitor project quality control procedures and inspection plans at site.
Verify workmanship and materials against approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, and project quality standards.
Conduct inspections at all stages -- pre-concreting, post-concreting, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, finishing, etc.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure corrective and preventive actions on quality deviations.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain site quality documentation including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and NCR logs.
Prepare and maintain QA/QC records such as cube test results, material approvals, and calibration reports.
Support preparation of daily and weekly quality reports for management review.
Maintain proper records of laboratory test reports and third-party inspections.
3. Material Testing & Verification
Verify material quality through inspection and laboratory testing (cement, aggregates, steel, concrete, etc.).
Ensure testing frequency and acceptance criteria are adhered to as per standards.
Coordinate with third-party testing agencies for validation of material quality.
4. Coordination & Supervision
Work closely with Project Manager, Site Engineers, and Consultants for quality compliance.
Assist in quality-related site meetings and review sessions.
Guide site teams on best construction practices and workmanship standards.
5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
Identify and report non-conformances and quality issues promptly.
Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support root cause analysis for repeated quality concerns.
6. Continuous Improvement
Implement continual improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance.
Conduct periodic training sessions for site staff and contractors on QA/QC procedures.
Suggest process improvements and value engineering ideas from a quality perspective.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Education:
B.Tech / B.E. - Civil Engineering (mandatory)
Additional certification in Quality Management (ISO, QA/QC) preferred
Experience:
3-8 years of experience in quality assurance and control in construction projects (residential, commercial, or township projects preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Sound knowledge of construction materials, IS codes, and quality testing procedures
Proficiency in quality documentation and report preparation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and adherence to standards
Effective communication and coordination abilities
