Quality assurance and control :

Implement quality plans

: Develop and enforce quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures for PEB fabrication and erection.

Documentation

: Manage and maintain all quality-related records, including material certifications, inspection reports, test certificates, and quality checklists.

Review specifications

: Study and understand client-provided drawings and specifications to ensure they are followed accurately.

Report findings

: Prepare detailed reports on inspections, test results, and any detected non-conformities.
Inspection and testing

Incoming material inspection

: Verify all incoming raw materials, such as steel sections, panels, and fasteners, meet the required specifications and standards.

In-process fabrication checks

: Perform regular inspections during the manufacturing process, including:

Dimensional checks

: Ensure components are accurately cut and drilled.

Welding inspection

: Check weld quality and adherence to welding standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, IS 9595), often using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods like Dye Penetration Testing (DPT).

Surface preparation and painting

: Monitor shot blasting, cleaning, and painting to prevent corrosion.

On-site erection monitoring

: Supervise on-site activities to ensure adherence to erection drawings, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Final inspection

: Conduct a comprehensive final inspection and walkthrough with the client to ensure the completed structure meets all specifications before handover.
Process and issue management

Corrective and preventive action

: Investigate the root cause of any quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

Continuous improvement

: Analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for process improvement.

Training

: Train shop-floor and site teams on fabrication quality standards and best practices.
Required skills and qualifications

Education

: A

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering

is typically required.

Experience

: Candidates generally need at least

1-2 years of experience in the PEB

or structural steel fabrication industry.

Technical knowledge

: Strong familiarity with

PEB standards (AISC, AWS, IS codes) and knowledge of fabrication drawings and welding procedures is essentia

l.

Soft skills

: Excellent communication, documentation, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are crucial for collaborating with various teams and reporting issues.
