Introduction: The Quality Engineer(QA) is responsible for the production of high quality and fit for purpose application software. This will involve working across Server Side, Client Side and Database modules, as well as working with component teams that own downstream and upstream components. The role involves working alongside stakeholders, testers and designers to take in requirements and work within the agile methodology to transform them into working, deployable applications or features that will ultimately delight Barclaycard customers. It involves working closely with other Developers within the team, participating in pair programming, peer reviews as well as contributing to and enforcing existing core code quality principles. What will you be doing Delivery (90%) . Accountable for the production of high quality software on a personal and team level adhering to all software engineering quality standards / benchmarks. . Collaborate and communicate with other testers and developers and team members to build automated technical solutions that meet customer needs. . Demonstrate passion for adoption of new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous improvement by maintaining an in-depth understanding of relevant and up to date knowledge of applications and techniques. . Ensure developed automated code is of high quality and cost-effective to maintain. Stakeholder Management (10%) . Develop close working relationships with the Business Analyst, Product Owner, Solution Architect, QA Engineer and Developers that form the team. . Decent understanding of emerging software test methods, tools and standards and actively keep this knowledge current. . Identify own development needs and seek opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training. . Ability to be able to provide succinct details in written format and verbally to Stakeholders. What we\'re looking for: . Hands on knowledge in automating Web and API (SOAP, REST and Micro Services) . . Hands on knowledge of associated technologies such as Java , Selenium , Database. . Ability to draw upon professional concepts to collaborate with others to carry out assigned duties. . Ability to recognize problems related to team\'s objectives / deliveries and to apply creativity / judgment to professional, technical or operational problems. . Ability to coordinate activities of less experienced or less knowledgeable team members. . Awareness on CI/CD and DevOps . Experience using project and dependency management tools such as Maven. . A natural collaborator keen to learn from others . Comfortable giving and receiving feedback at all levels . Working in an Agile Environment . Reporting of defects and issues, interact closely with DEV & QA team members . Collaborate with teams on common approach of Continuous delivery model . Ability to implement new test scripts on top of the existing testing framework . Participating in agile ceremonies providing story points and estimates for task. Skills that will help you in the role: . Experience of working within Financial Services . BE, MCA or equivalent . RDBMS development experience (e.g. Oracle) & SQL skills . Experience of using the Git source code control system . Experience in Karate, BDD and Rest Assured framework . Experience of automating web, mobile and API . . Experience of working within a regulatory driven change environment . Good knowledge in Database queries .
