Quality Manager - Transformer Manufacturing Company
The Quality Manager oversees all quality-related activities in the transformer manufacturing process to ensure that products meet industry standards (IS/IEC), customer specifications, and internal quality benchmarks. This role involves managing the QC team, monitoring production quality, handling audits, and ensuring continuous improvement in processes.
Develop and implement quality standards, procedures, and inspection systems.
Ensure compliance with
IS/IEC standards
, customer specifications, and statutory requirements.
Conduct internal audits and support external audits (ISO 9001, BIS, etc.).
2. Quality Control in Production
Monitor quality at all production stages:
Core building
Coil winding
Tank fabrication
Assembly
Oil filtration & filling
Testing
Approve incoming raw materials (CRGO, copper, oil, bushings, etc.) through IQC checks.
Review and approve in-process and final inspection reports (FTR).
3. Testing & Inspection
Oversee routine, type, and special testing:
Ratio test
Vector group test
IR test
HV/LV winding resistance
Impulse test (if applicable)
Temperature rise test
Ensure proper calibration of testing equipment.
4. Customer Coordination
Handle customer inspections (Factory Acceptance Tests).
Address customer complaints and oversee root-cause analysis (RCA).
Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain quality records, test reports, NCR logs, CAPA reports, and audit reports.
Prepare monthly MIS on rejection, rework, and process improvement.
6. Team Leadership
Lead and train quality inspectors and testing engineers.
Develop skill training programs for production and QC staff.
7. Continuous Improvement
Implement lean tools (5S, KAIZEN, Poka-Yoke).
Monitor reduction in rejection rate, breakdowns, and process variations.
Required Skills & Competencies

Qualification & Experience
B.E./Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
