Job Description

A Quality Control (QC) Officer's job is to ensure products and services meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and process monitoring. They analyze data, identify defects, and work with production teams to correct issues and prevent future problems. Responsibilities include performing inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods; maintaining detailed records; and reporting findings to management. Key responsibilities Inspect and test products: Examine products, materials, and processes against company and industry standards using various tools like calipers, gauges, and software. Monitor production: Oversee and monitor manufacturing operations to ensure they meet production standards and identify opportunities for improvement. Analyze data and identify issues: Track and analyze quality data, such as measurements, temperatures, and defect rates, to identify trends and root causes of problems. Implement corrective actions: Work with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness. Maintain documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities. Accept or reject products: Make decisions on whether to accept or reject finished items that do not meet specifications and report on any non-conforming products. Collaborate with other departments: Communicate quality findings to supervisors, management, and other specialists, and assist in quality assurance audits. Ensure compliance: Make sure products and processes comply with all relevant safety regulations and quality standards. Qualifications and skills Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like industrial engineering, chemistry, or quality management. Experience: Practical experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment is highly valued. Technical skills: Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and electronic inspection equipment. Soft skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, good communication skills, and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
