Develop, implement, and maintain QA policies, procedures, and quality standards for fashion jewellery manufacturing.
Oversee in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, safety, and customer requirements.
Establish quality benchmarks for raw materials, components (stones, metals, findings, plating, etc.), and finished products.
Work with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality standards are embedded from concept stage.
Monitor plating, polishing, soldering, stone-setting, and assembly quality checks at various stages.
Handle quality audits (internal and external) and ensure compliance with ISO / SEDEX / buyer-specific standards.
Lead a team of quality inspectors and provide training on inspection techniques and defect identification.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure incoming raw materials and outsourced processes meet standards.
Maintain and analyze quality data, prepare reports, and present to management with improvement plans.
Manage customer complaints, returns, and rejections, ensuring timely resolution and corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and ethical standards relevant to the jewellery industry.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, plating, stone setting, soldering, polishing, assembly).
Eye for detail with ability to identify finishing, plating, color, and structural defects.
Strong knowledge of quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, SPC, etc.).
Knowledge of international standards and buyer requirements (REACH, Nickel-free, Lead-free compliance).
Good leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy, Jewellery Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
7-10 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control, with at least 3-5 years in jewellery/fashion accessories manufacturing.
Experience with export-oriented units or large-scale jewellery manufacturing preferred.
Familiarity with ERP / quality management systems is an advantage.
