Job Title Quality Control In-charge Location Ambala Job Summary The QC In-charge will take full responsibility for maintaining and ensuring product quality across all stages -- raw material (metal, glass, paints), manufacturing, packaging, shipping and inventory. He will develop, implement and monitor QC procedures, and ensure damage-free packaging and transportation. The candidate must have hands-on experience with certification standards such as ISO, UL, SASO, CL and should ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities o Develop, implement and maintain robust Quality Control procedures and standards across all processes -- raw material inspection (metal, glass, paints), production, packaging, storage, shipping and inventory. o Oversee and manage QC team (inspectors, quality staff), train and guide them to ensure consistent implementation of QC procedures. o Conduct regular inspections, audits and tests -- at raw material receipt, during production, pre-packaging, pre-shipping and on finished goods -- to detect defects, non-conformities or potential quality issues. o Implement and enforce packaging and logistics process aimed at "damage-free packaging & transportation" -- define packaging standards, supervise packing operations, ensure correct packing material and methods, and ensure secure handling & dispatch. (New requirement tailored for company) o Monitor inventory quality -- both raw materials (metal, glass, paints) and finished/packed products -- to ensure no deterioration, damage or quality deviation during storage. o Collaborate across departments: production, procurement, warehouse, logistics/shipping to ensure quality standards are met at every stage, especially for packaging and shipping processes. o Maintain accurate records of all QC activities: inspection reports, test results, audit findings, non-conformities, corrective actions, packaging/shipping checks, damages. o Identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, damages, returns, and rework. o Ensure compliance with relevant certification and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO, UL, SASO, CL), prepare for internal/external audits, and coordinate with certification agencies as needed (given candidate's certification-agency experience). o Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on quality metrics, packaging/transportation damage rates, audit findings, corrective actions, and improvement plans. o Train and sensitize all relevant staff (production, packing, logistics, warehouse) on quality expectations, correct handling/packaging methods, and importance of compliance. Qualifications & Experience o Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance role -- preferably in industries dealing with metal, glass, paints/coatings, or similar materials. (Your requirement: "Expertise in metal, glass & paints must for min 5 yrs") o Proven track record of handling QC across production, packaging, shipping and inventory. o Prior exposure or work experience with certification agencies or standards (e.g. ISO, UL, SASO, CL) -- able to interpret and implement certification requirements into QC processes. o Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), inspection/test protocols, root cause analysis, corrective / preventive action processes. o Excellent analytical, problem-solving, reporting and record-keeping skills. o Good leadership, team-management, training and communication skills. o Attention to detail, ability to enforce standards, ability to work across departments, ability to handle audits and compliance requirements. Desired Skills / Attributes o Experience in handling QC for metal fabrication, glass manufacturing / processing, coatings/paints or similar materials. o Knowledge of packaging standards and methods -- especially for safe transport of fragile / heavy / delicate materials (metal/glass) to avoid damage in transit. o Understanding of logistics and shipping processes, and ability to coordinate QC + logistics to minimize damage and ensure safe delivery. o Ability to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for QC, packaging, shipping, storage, inspection and audits. o Capability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, coordinate with multiple teams, and maintain high standards. o Familiarity with certification compliance, audit processes, documentation and follow-up actions. Reporting & Interactions o Reports to: Plant Head / Quality Head / Senior Management o Works closely with: Production, Procurement, Warehouse / Inventory, Packaging, Logistics / Shipping, External Certification / Audit agencies Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Metrics (as expected) o Rate of non-conformities / defects at each stage (raw material, production, packaging, pre-shipping) o Number / rate of damaged goods during packaging / transportation / shipping o Number of customer complaints / returns due to quality or damage o Timeliness and completeness of QC inspections and documentation o Compliance with certifications and audit results o Efficiency of corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) and reduction in repeated defects o Inventory quality and damage rates in storage / warehouse
