To ensure that all materials, whether manufactured in-house or procured from external vendors, meet MeFree's quality standards for yoga props and apparel. The Quality Control Executive will be responsible for conducting inspections, identifying defects, maintaining records, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Inspection - In-House Production
Inspect raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products produced in-house.
Verify measurements, dimensions, fabric strength, stitching quality, durability, and functional usability of props and apparel.
Ensure adherence to defined specifications and approved samples.
Conduct routine checks at different stages of production to detect defects early.
2. Vendor Quality Assurance
Carry out quality checks on goods received from external vendors.
Compare vendor-supplied goods with approved samples, technical drawings, and specifications.
Approve or reject shipments based on quality findings.
Work closely with vendors to provide feedback, suggest improvements, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
3. Testing and Validation
Conduct physical, mechanical, and visual tests for durability, safety, and usability of yoga props.
Validate apparel quality in terms of stitching, colour fastness, shrinkage, elasticity, and comfort.
Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations applicable to yoga props and apparel.
4. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality deviations.
Prepare and submit quality inspection reports to management.
Maintain and update vendor performance scorecards.
Recommend rejection, rework, or acceptance of materials based on findings.
5. Process Improvement
Analyse recurring quality issues and identify root causes.
Collaborate with production, design, and procurement teams to improve processes.
Suggest modifications to specifications, processes, or vendor contracts where required.
Contribute to development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control.
6. Team and Vendor Communication
Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and production teams for smooth material handling.
Communicate effectively with external vendors regarding quality issues, rejections, and corrective actions.
Support training of in-house staff on quality parameters and inspection techniques.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education
: Diploma / Graduate in Textile Technology, Quality Management, or related fields.
Experience
: 2-3 years in quality control
Technical Skills
:
Knowledge of quality standards and inspection methods.
Ability to read and interpret product specifications, drawings, and samples.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting.
