Job Description

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Engineering.3-8 years of experience in quality control in fabrication or manufacturing.Strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG/TIG/SMAW), materials, and fabrication techniques.Ability to read technical drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T.Proficiency in inspection tools and quality documentation.Good analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Quality Control & nspection

Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials, fabricated parts, and assemblies.Verify dimensions using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, welding gauges, height gauge, etc.).Inspect weld joints, surface finish, fit-up, and alignment as per WPS, PQR, and fabrication drawings.Identify defects in welding, cutting, machining, assembly, and finishing operations.

Quality Assurance & DocumentationPrepare and maintain quality documents such as WPS, PQR, WPQ, inspection reports, NCRs, and calibration records.Maintain traceability for materials, heat numbers, consumables, and processes.Ensure proper documentation for customer audits and third-party inspections (TPI).Process ControlDevelop and implement SOPs, quality plans, and inspection checkpoints.Establish welding parameters and monitor adherence to quality standards.Validate fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, rolling, fitting, and assembly.Non-Conformance & Corrective ActionsReport non-conformities and work with production teams to implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).Follow up on rework, repair procedures, and ensure compliance with specifications.Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues.CoordinationCoordinate with production, design, planning, and supply chain teams for quality requirements.Interface with customers, consultants, and TPI agencies during inspections.Assist in qualification of welders and monitoring their performance.Compliance & StandardsEnsure adherence to relevant standards: ISO, ASME, AWS D1.1, or customer specifications.Oversee calibration of measuring instruments and welding machines.Enforce safety and quality practices on the shop floor.
