Job Description

quality control (QC) electrical engineer is responsible for ensuring electrical products and projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards. Key duties include developing and implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections and tests, managing non-conformances, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. This role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Key responsibilities

Develop and implement quality systems:

Design, implement, and maintain quality control systems, inspection protocols, and quality plans that align with project and client requirements.

Conduct inspections and testing:

Perform incoming material, in-process, and final product inspections. This includes functional tests, signal connection checks, and communication tests for electrical and instrumentation systems.

Manage non-conformances:

Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, performing root cause analysis using methods like 5 Whys or Fishbone diagrams to implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance:

Verify that all work and products comply with relevant electrical codes, industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and project specifications.

Verify documentation:

Review and approve inspection and test plans (ITPs), and ensure all technical documents are current and accurate. They must also verify design drawings and ensure the use of the latest approved versions.

Generate reports:

Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to management and stakeholders, detailing project activities, findings, and corrective actions.

Coordinate with teams:

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and site teams, as well as suppliers and external auditors, to resolve quality issues and ensure standards are met.

Conduct audits and training:

Lead internal and external audits and conduct quality awareness training for site personnel.
Required skills and qualifications

Education:

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is typically required.

Technical skills:

Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and quality control software.

Analytical skills:

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential for troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes.

Communication:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and site personnel.

Attention to detail:

A meticulous approach is crucial for detailed inspections and documentation.
