Job Description

A Quality Control (QC) Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) is a senior-level position focused on ensuring the structural integrity, consistency, and compliance of concrete products. They lead quality assurance, manage raw material standards, and oversee laboratory testing across one or multiple plants.

Key Responsibilities (10+ Years Experience)

Quality Management Systems (QMS):

Developing, implementing, and auditing QMS in compliance with ISO, ASTM, ACI, and local standards (e.g., CPWD, IS codes).

Mix Design & Optimization:

Developing, testing, and approving concrete mix designs (ranging from M20 to M60+ grades) to ensure strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

Raw Material Inspection:

Verifying the quality of incoming materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures, water) and approving vendors.

Process Control & Testing:

Overseeing field and lab testing, including compressive strength (cube tests), slump tests, and air entrainment to ensure product consistency.

Team Leadership & Training:

Leading, mentoring, and training QC engineers, technicians, and batching plant staff on quality standards.

Root Cause Analysis:

Investigating non-conformities, customer complaints, and concrete failures to implement corrective actions.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintaining all quality reports, MIS, and calibration records for equipment, including batching plants and testing machines.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Experience:

10+ years in RMC manufacturing, preferably with experience in high-rise or large infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills:

Deep knowledge of concrete technology, material testing, mix design, and relevant IS/ASTM codes.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills.

Software:

Proficiency in MS Office and specialized ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
