The Quality Control Engineer ensures that all construction activities in real estate projects are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, conducting inspections, ensuring material and workmanship quality, and supporting continual improvement to deliver defect-free projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Planning & Implementation
Develop and implement
Quality Control (QC) plans
, checklists, and procedures for all stages of the project.
Ensure adherence to
ISO, RERA, BIS, and company quality standards.
Coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams to maintain consistency in quality practices.
2. Site Inspection & Monitoring
Conduct regular
site inspections
to verify that work is performed as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
Monitor
construction activities
such as RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, and finishing.
Inspect
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
work for compliance and safety.
3. Material Testing & Verification
Verify and test construction materials such as cement, sand, steel, concrete, tiles, and fittings.
Maintain calibration and testing records from approved laboratories.
Approve or reject materials based on quality test reports.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily QC inspection reports, material test records, and non-conformance reports (NCR).
Prepare and submit
Quality Audit Reports
and
Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA)
plans.
Ensure proper filing of all quality documentation for audit and handover.
5. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and site teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Assist the Project Manager in quality meetings and audits.
Train and guide site teams and labor contractors on maintaining quality standards.
6. Final Inspection & Handover
Prepare snag lists and supervise rectification works before handover.
Ensure all finishing works and systems meet handover standards.
Support in
customer inspection and feedback resolution.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction materials and building codes.
Familiarity with
QA/QC processes, RERA norms, and ISO standards.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality monitoring tools.
Excellent observation, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to identify defects and implement corrective measures.
Educational Qualification
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma
in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
