The Quality Control Chemist is responsible for performing chemical and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine and non-routine chemical analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
Perform laboratory testing using standard analytical techniques such as titration, UV, IR, HPLC, GC, etc. (as applicable).
Prepare and maintain test solutions, reagents, and standard reference materials.
Accurately record test results, observations, and calculations in laboratory notebooks and records.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, GLP, and safety guidelines.
Assist in calibration, validation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support internal audits, inspections, and quality documentation activities.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the QC laboratory.
Coordinate with production and quality assurance teams when required.
Educational Qualification
Minimum Qualification:
B.Sc. in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry or equivalent.
Experience
5-7 years of experience in a quality control laboratory is preferred (depending on industry requirements).
