Job Summary
Ensure that raw materials, components, and finished products comply with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements through inspection, tests, defect identification, documentation, and coordination with production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect materials (incoming, in-process, final) for conformity to specifications (dimensions, finish, strength, tolerance etc.).
Identify defects or deviations (e.g. visual, dimensional, functional), mark, segregate, and report them.
Conduct tests/samples as per test plans or quality control procedures. Use measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.).
Maintain inspection records -- defect logs, test reports, inspection checklists, non-conformance reports.
Coordinate with production / manufacturing / site teams to ensure repairs or corrective action are taken.
Ensure quality control tools, equipment and measuring instruments are calibrated and functioning.
Ensure products are properly packed, labeled, and meet dispatch standards.
Participate in periodic audits or reviews for quality improvements.
Follow and adhere to company SOPs, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum education: High school / Diploma / Technical qualification relevant to the field (e.g. Manufacturing, Civil, Garment, etc.).
Prior experience in quality checking / inspection (ideally 1-3 years or more depending on seniority).
Good attention to detail, sharp observational skills.
Basic knowledge of relevant quality standards and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Good communication skills; ability to report issues clearly.
Ability to work under minimal supervision; team player.
