Job Title:

Quality Checker - Garments and Fabrics

Job Summary:

The Quality Checker is responsible for inspecting garments and fabrics at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet the required quality standards. This includes identifying defects, ensuring consistency in measurements, stitching, color, and overall appearance, and documenting inspection results. The goal is to maintain high product quality and reduce returns, rework, or customer complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabric Inspection:

Inspect incoming fabrics for defects such as stains, holes, weaving faults, or color variation. Use fabric inspection machines or manually review fabric rolls. Record and report any defects or irregularities to the relevant department.

Garment Inspection:

Inspect garments during and after production for stitching defects, loose threads, incorrect labels, fitting issues, and finishing errors. Check measurements against the approved size chart. Ensure trims, buttons, zippers, and prints/embroidery are correctly applied and secured.

In-Process Quality Checks:

Conduct random quality checks at different production stages (cutting, sewing, finishing). Coordinate with the production team to correct faults and ensure quality standards are maintained.

Final Inspection:

Perform final inspection before packaging to verify compliance with buyer requirements. Approve or reject finished goods based on quality criteria.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain inspection reports and quality records. Report repeated defects and suggest improvements to minimize defects.

Compliance:

Ensure all products meet safety and compliance standards (such as ISO, AQL, or buyer-specific standards). Adhere to company policies and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum High School Diploma; technical training or diploma in textile or garment technology is preferred. 1-3 years of experience in quality control/inspection in garments or textile industry. Good understanding of fabric types, garment construction, and inspection methods. Familiarity with AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards. Attention to detail and ability to spot subtle defects. Strong communication and reporting skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
