An International Jewellery group is looking for:
Position: Quality Checker (Diamonds)
No. of positions: 1
Job location: Calicut
Experience: Min one year as Quality Checker-Diamonds
Education: Graduation in Gemology/Diploma in Gemology
Salary: Up to 25kpm + attractive Incentives and yearly bonus
Food and Accommodation: Will be provided

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Key Result Areas - KRA)

• New Bill Diamond and Precious Ornament Checking

• On Basis Approval Memo Diamond and Precious Ornament Checking

• Verification Repair and Return

• Coordination with Department for Checking SR and Purchase

• Preparation of Physical Stone Verification Report

Key Performance Indicators - KPI

• Fresh Diamond and Precious Ornaments Checking:

From Stock in Charge collecting new billed ornament for quality checking, while collecting ornaments tallying and recording details of bill. Then as per company norms and polices the quality checking will process, After the ornament were divided into 2 Category which having the prescribed Quality will pass and Which not having will reject. After completing the QC process the item will return to in Charge.

• On Basis Approval Memo Diamond and Precious Ornament Checking:

From Stock in Charge collecting ornament for quality checking, while collecting ornaments tallying and recording details of separate ledger . Then as per company norms and polices the quality checking will process, the ornament were divided into 2 Category which having the prescribed Quality will pass and Which not having will reject. The details of rejection will inform to purchase & Finance department for Processing new billing rising for the pass items. After completing the QC process the item will return to in Charge

• Verification of Repair and Return ornament:

Department will process the damaged ornaments for repair after repairing item will back to Department, from Department the QC department will collect the item and check if the ornaments repaired properly as per instruction given for repair.

• Assist Department for Checking SR and Purchase:

In case of Overload work in as per Request from Diamond Department Head, Assist Department section for checking SR, Purchase And After Polish,Hall marking,& Certification

• Preparation of Physical Stone Verification Report:

As per instruction physical cross checking of 22kt ornaments with packing list for understanding faithfulness Stone Weight mention in packing list. The process is done on the presents of QC Department, Stock in Charge & Purchase Department
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Diamond, Precious , Uncut& Platinum Ornaments

• Excellent Employee focus, Effective communication, interpersonal, managerial and negotiation skill.

• Knowledge on latest Quality Checking Equipment

• Basic computer knowledge with understanding of technology to guide implementation.

• Knowledge of statutory framework

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduation in Gemology or Diploma in Gemology.

• Min. 1 year hands on experience in Diamond industry

• Previous exposure and experience in retail sector is desirable

• The position requires full time physical presence, attention & devotion at the work station.

• Sitting for long periods of time in front of a Microscope is common. May result in repetitive strain on the Eye,Neck and back.

• The position does not require physical effort. This position is not subject to Occupational Health and Safety Risks. The position requires normal office environment.

• Work is normally performed inside office premises; exposure to unpleasant odors and noises minimal; No possibility of exposure to contagious disease nor to chemicals.

• It is subject to mental stress caused by rapidly changing business environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines.

• Strict corrective initiatives must always be met and deadline induced mental stress is frequent.

• Infrequent local travel is normal and need based.

• Outstation travel requirements are minimal to moderate.
