2. Key Responsibilities
A. Raw Material & Component Inspection (Steel + Cooker Division)
Inspect stainless steel sheets, coils, aluminium plates, cast iron components, handles, knobs, rivets, safety valves, gaskets, whistles, etc.
Check thickness, grade, hardness, finish, dimensions, and supplier quality.
Prepare incoming QC reports and maintain rejection logs.
B. In-Process Quality Control - Steel Cookware
Monitor quality at every stage:
Cutting, blanking, forming
Deep drawing, spinning, trimming
Welding, polishing, buffing
Handle welding or riveting
Induction bottom stamping and adhesion testing
Ensure cookware meets:
C. In-Process Quality Control - Pressure Cooker Division
Monitor each stage:
Body forming & deep drawing
Spinning & finishing
Lid fitting, valve fitting
Handle assembly
Safety valve & gasket seating
Leak-proofness and steam release assembly
Check for:
Dimensional tolerances
Lid locking system alignment
Groove finishing
Valve threading accuracy
Safety component fitting
D. Final Product Quality Testing - Cooker Division (Critical)
Conduct and document mandatory tests:
Pressure test / Leak test
Bursting test / Safety valve operation
Lid locking & alignment test
Handle strength test
Steam escaping & whistle functionality test
Capacity, weight, gauge checks
Ensure compliance with
BIS standards

E. Final Quality Inspection - Steel Cookware
Scratch, dent & finish inspection
Handle strength and torque test
Induction bottom adhesion test
Weight & thickness check
Packaging quality check
F. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain QC sheets, batch records, testing logs, defect sheets.
Prepare MIS reports for quality trends, rejection percentages, and CAPA.
Maintain BIS documentation required for audits (cooker division).
Maintain ISO/quality system records.
G. Root Cause Analysis & Improvement
Investigate defects (in-house, supplier, customer complaints).
Conduct RCA & implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Suggest process improvements to reduce rejection and rework.
H. Quality Systems & Training
Train operators on inspection standards and defect identification.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, ISO, and safety systems.
Support 5S and lean improvement initiatives.
3. Required Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
2-7 years experience in steel cookware or cooker manufacturing QA/QC.
Knowledge of BIS standards (especially IS 2347 for cookers).
Strong understanding of cookware/cooker manufacturing processes.
