The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and
controlling all quality documentation to accompany First Article Inspection (FAI)
submissions, production part shipments, and customer deliverables. The role ensures
compliance with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME, NACE) and customer-specific
requirements in the Oil & Gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, compile, and review FAI documentation packages (AS9102 format if
applicable) for new and modified production parts.
Generate and maintain Quality Dossiers, Manufacturing Record Books (MRB),
and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) in line with customer contracts and project
requirements.
Ensure all quality documentation (MTCs, CoCs, NDE reports, calibration
certificates, HT charts, welding records, etc.) are complete, accurate, and
traceable.
Interface with Production, QC Inspectors, Engineering, and Supply Chain to
collect required data for documentation.
Verify compliance of supplier-provided certificates (MTCs, CoC, special process
reports) with international standards (ASTM, ASME, API, ISO) and purchase order
requirements.
Support customer audits / inspections (FAT, QAP, stage inspections) by
providing correct documentation.
Maintain document control in accordance with company QMS (ISO 9001 / API Q1
/ API Q2).
Coordinate with clients and third-party inspection agencies for review and
approval of documentation prior to shipment.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
related to documentation gaps or quality nonconformities.
Continuously improve documentation processes to ensure on-time, error-free
delivery of QA packages.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas industry standards (API 6A / API 16A / NACE
MR0175, ISO 9001, AS9102).
Familiarity with FAI processes, PPAP (if applicable), and customer-specific
documentation formats.
Hands-on experience with Manufacturing Record Books (MRB) and Quality
Dossiers.
Knowledge of NDT, welding, heat treatment, coating, and machining
processes.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PDF compilation tools); exposure to
document control software is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and
customers.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
3-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Documentation in Oil & Gas,
Energy, or Heavy Engineering industries.
Exposure to customer audits, third-party inspections, and documentation
reviews
